ID management
Cerebrum is a role based ID management system. ID management has become
a "must" in most larger organisations, it carries a vast number
of advantages to the manual operations:
- Increases control of information local to each user
- Facilitates the changing of password or other information for the
user or
staff, hence promoting operational efficiency
- Eliminates most of the logistical changes that occur when identity
is tied
to the User/Person rather than to the functional role
- Reduces the chances if identity theft originating either inside og
outside
the network.
- Facilitates the use of single sign-on solutions
- Enables organizations to share each other's authentication and
authorization services, like for instance in the Shibboleth environment
