NÜRNBERG UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES
NÜRNBERG Nürnberg, situated in Bavaria some 160 km north of Munich, has some 500,000 inhabitants. The city was an early center of humanism, science, printing, and mechanical invention, as well as astronomy - the main part of Nicolaus Copernicus' work was published here in 1543. Nürnberg, on its official webpages, refers to itself as a city “of wit”. The city has many medieval buildings, a castle and a long city wall and a sightseeing tour is one of the orientation programmes organised by the International Office at the beginning of the term. The region has a comfortable climate, with warm summers and mild winters that see some snow.
