UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF BORÅS
BORÅS Borås combines all the wealth of choice you might find in a big city with the sheer convenience of a small town. As the second largest municipality in Western Sweden, Borås offers a rich choice in public services, trade and commerce, cultural events, recreation and education, as well as a highly specialised labour market. No less than 1.5 million people live within a 100-kilometre radius of the city, itself a focus for the 220,000 inhabitants in the area, half of whom reside within the municipality. Borås has a well-developed spirit of enterprise that leads to 500 new companies being started every year. The city is also reknown for its cultural events and for its Zoo which is home to some 500 animals of 80 different species.
UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF BORÅS (UCB) The history of the University College of Borås goes back to 1866 with the funding of The School of Weaving Technology. Today's college has six academic Schools of Library and Information Studies; Business and Informatics; Engineering; Education and Behavioural Sciences; Textiles; and Health Sciences.
