Executive Master of Business Administration in Arkhangelsk
Integration of Russia into the international community, increasing trade and volume of direct investments in Russian regions demand increasing competence from the local managers in order to meet challenges of international cooperation. The program offered by ASTU in cooperation with Bodø Graduate School of Business offers extensive training in such subjects of business administration like International Marketing, International Financial Accounting, Innovation Management, Management Accounting and Control as well as Business English. The idea and experience of this project is based on 10 years of successful cooperation between Bodø Graduate School of Business and Baltic State Technical University and builds on premise that both sides ooperate extensively in teaching, research, contact with business enterprises and networking. The project is financially supported over 5-year period by the Barents Secretariat and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Eurasia Foundation.
The candidates who will be recruited for this program are expected to have preliminary work experience. Good knowledge of English is also indispensable as many lectures will be offered by the Norwegian professors and that the primary course literature is in English. The program requires elaboration of the diploma work in English as well as a short visit to the Norwegian and international companies in Norway. Candidates who will graduate from the program will get the authorized Russian and Norwegian diplomas.
Business Practise Norway
Business Practice Norway is an obligatory part of the executive MBA program. The aim of the course is to provide the participants with an insight into the Norwegian business life and understanding of managerial practices in different cultures.
A weeks course in Bodø is a compalsory part of the eMBA program. Every summer students from Arkhangelsk come to Bodø for intensive studies. The participants visit Norwegian copmanies, attend lectures, take part in business games and perform a considerable amount of independent and group work.
During the Business Practice week, the participants visit different enterprises in Nordland county where they get insight in use of managerial accounting, marketing and management in practice. Being managers of middle and central position in Arkhangelsk, the students get opportunity to compare management practices in two countries and acquire deeper understanding of cultural similarities and differences. Social program aims at creating team spirit and solid networks participants can use later.
