The framework of the cooperation is determined by the agreement between the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.

  Murmansk State Technical University, Education Center of the Employment Center of Murmansk Region and Bodø Graduate School of Business are partners in this cooperation work. Present Now it is a well developed project which has a history and got own trade mark. The program for new students starts each semester and lasts for 5 months with graduation ceremony at the end of courses. At graduation the students get three diplomas: from Murmansk State Technical University, Bodø Graduate School of Business and the diploma from both Russian Ministry of Defense and Norwegian Ministry of Defense.  

During the last years the project has offered the following specializations:

• Management in the Field of Technical Protection of Information

• Management in the Field of WEB Technology and Telecommunications

• Accountancy

• Quality Management

• State Municipal Management

Center for International Business Studies (CIBS) carried out research and prepared a review about this program.

Results of the cooperation are more than promising. Approximately 600 students graduated from the courses. The evaluation of the program and former students showed excellent results: 75 % of students find new jobs. Students are satisfied with knowledge and state that they got better off when decided to attend courses. Adaptation and new knowledge are reasons for attending these courses.

The project has been a success due to both its social importance and high level of training quality. The program helps to reduce social problems in the North-West Russia. Project has been successfully evaluated by the specialists of consultant bureau Econ-analysis, Oslo, Norway. The results of this project confirm that educational model implemented by this project is worth using and developing. Participation of teachers from both Russia and Norway give a good mix of knowledge and practice. The program is a good example of regional cooperation in the Barents Region and international orientation. The program creates a common research and business platform between Russia and Norway.
