In August ESN arranged a trip to the Alta Canyon; a very spectacular sight about 20 kms from Finnmark University College. Included in the trip was a visit to the Alta dam, which serves as a reservoir for the nearby electricity power plant. Here everybody were shown an information film about the building of the dam, which was quite controversial from an environmental point of view around 1980.
