Library regulations
All Oslo University College students and staff are welcome to use the Learning Centres. Your student or employee card will function as a Learning Centre user's card.
People not associated with Oslo University College may also use the Learning Centres, and Learning Centre user's cards are available upon request (The only condition is that you have a permanent address in Norway and can prove your identity by means of driver's licence, passport etc.).
In general, students may borrow books for three weeks, employees for four weeks. The loan can usually be renewed if nobody else is waiting for the book. Note that the loan periods for CDs, CD-ROMs, videos, audio-visual materials and set books are considerably shorter. Reference books and periodicals may only be consulted on the Learning Centres' premises. Ask your faculty Learning Centre for details.
When a book is on loan, you can ask the librarian to have your name added to the reservation list. You'll be notified by e-mail, SMS or mail as soon as the requested book is available. We will hold the book for you for one week.
If you need a book or an article from a periodical that is not held by the Learning Centre you can request an interlibrary loan
Overdue items are recalled by mail, e-mail or SMS. If you fail to return an item, you will have to pay a compensation fee. The Learning Centres will not give further service until the fee has been paid.
