Monday 2. October:
”Ifigeneia - The text, the drama and the play.”
Hannestad will speak about the current production of Verk (former students at the Academy are performing), which is premiering on the 28. October at Black Box Theater / Oslo. The play is written by Finn Iunker, based on Euripides Ifigeneia in Aulis. It follows the myth were Agamemnon sacrifices his own daughter Ifigeneia to get wind in the sails so they can leave for Troy. The text plays with theatre and itself, as well as it is a description of a world gone insane.

Verk Productions was formed in 1998 by Fredrik Hannestad, Saila Hyttinen, and Anders Mossling. Verk approaches their performances with a simple and humble attitude while also demanding that the script alone can sustain itself. Key elements are: close proximity and stage settings that expose the actors’ vulnerability.

It is worth noting that four former Academy students are involved in this production.
