The PARA2000 Proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in their
Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.
Deadlines, Abstracts and PapersAuthors' Instructions for Accepted Contributions in the PARA2000 Proceedings Published in the Springer Verlag Series LNCSPlease follow the new version of the "Authors' Instructions" for the printed and the electronic volumes. (You can also download it in PS format.) From now on manuscripts must be accompanied by a signed copyright form. Please send a printout of your contribution, your files (see below), and the completed and signed copyright form to the volume editors (see address below). They will check the contributions, decide in which order they shall appear in the book, and send the complete manuscript, the complete files, and the complete copyright forms of their volume on to Springer Verlag. Contributed papers have a page limit of 10. Invited papers may consist of max 15 pages. Preparing Your ManuscriptYou will get the best results and your files will be easiest to handle if you use LaTeX2e for the preparation of your camera-ready manuscript together with the corresponding Springer class file llncs.cls. Only if you use LaTeX2e and llncs.cls will we be able to add hyperlinks to your manuscript in the online version. The LaTeX2e macro package for LNCS contains further files: llncs.dem is a sample input file which you may take as a source for your own input, llncs.doc is the documentation of the class. We also provide the LaTeX2e source file of the "Authors' Instructions", which may serve as a further sample input. You can download it as a ZIP archive or you can download the TEX file for the text and the EPS file for the figure separately. If you are not able to use LaTeX2e you may use our old macro packages for LaTeX or for TeX. We do not encourage the use of MS Word, particularly as the layout of the pages (the position of figures and paragraphs) can change from printout to printout. Having said this, we do provide the template sv-lncs.dot (for use with PC systems) or sv-lncs (for use with Macintosh systems) to help MS Word users to prepare their camera-ready manuscripts and to enable us to use their source files for the online version of the LNCS. Please read the documentation of the template sv-lncs.doc carefully, we also provide typeinst.doc, our "Authors' Instructions" as an example input. You can download all four files as a ZIP archive. With some Web browsers the templates may be destroyed during transfer. Thus it is better to download the ZIP archive. FiguresIf possible, please produce your figures electronically and integrate them into your text-file. For LaTeX and TeX users we recommend using the style-files psfig or epsf. How to Submit Your ManuscriptPlease submit to the volume editors (see address below), together with your own printout of the final version of your contribution, your source (input) files, e.g. TEX files for the text and PS or EPS files for figures, the final DVI file (for papers prepared using LaTeX or TeX), the final PS file, and, if possible, a PDF file of the final version of your contribution. When generating the PS file please avoid using the option "reverse order". Make sure that the text is identical in all cases. Naming of the Electronic FilesIn the final PARA2000 program, the abstracts of the invited and contributed presentations are labeled IA1 - IA20 and CA1 - CA64, respectively. These labels will be used to identify the electronic files of each individual manuscript. Please, name all files in the following way. The name of each file name should be IAxx.yyy for invited presentation number xx (= 1 to 20) and CAxx.yyy for contributed presentation number xx (= 1 to 64). Moreover, .yyy denotes the appropriate file name extension, e.g., .tex, .ps, .eps, .dvi, etc. The file names of figures should be IAxx_fig1.yyy, IAxx_fig2.yyy, etc. We illustrate the naming conventions for manuscript CA21, that we assume is prepared using LeTeX2e. The manuscript is assumed to include two figures in eps-format. The following files should be submitted:
Supplementary MaterialIf you have supplementary material on your server, please give the volume editors a short description and inform them of the URL at which the material can be found. Then we will add the description of the supplementary material to the LNCS Online and create a link to your server.
Department of Informatics Deadline for electronic submission of manuscripts is July 31, 2000. |
