DOA is a web based storage, delivery and search system for professional quality sound effects for film and documentary production. Users will be able to search for sound on various criteria and hear samples or download those that meet their search terms. Nominated users will be able to upload sounds to the system. Registered users are able to upload sound samples into the database, defining relevant metadata as they do so. This means the archive is expandable, and able to be used as an assessment and archival resource for the teaching of sound recording. The entire system will be available for free distribution to academic institutions.
