Both academic qualifications and musical entrance requirements must be met. All applications will be handled in accordance with national requirements for admission in to higher education.
To enter the undergraduate courses at the Norwegian Academy of Music, foreign applicants should normally have an education corresponding to the British G.C.E.(A), the German Abitur, the French baccalauréat or the equivalent. The undergraduate courses are divided into two parts, "1. avdeling" and "2. avdeling" (2 + 2 years).
Applicants with an undergraduate education considered equivalent to the "1. avdeling" (1st and 2nd year) taken at a different music academy, may apply to enter the "2. avdeling" of an undergraduate course (3rd and 4th year).
Admission to the postgraduate programmes requires a completed undergraduate study programme from the Norwegian Academy of Music or a corresponding programme. Please contact the Academy for further details.
