Where can withdrawn notes and coins be redeemed?

Members of the public wishing to redeem notes and coins that are no longer valid, i.e. no longer legal tender, are requested to go to their bank or to Norges Bank in Oslo.

They may also contact NOKAS in Bergen, Stavanger, Tromsø and Trondheim.

Business hours are Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Offices are closed on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and the Wednesday before Maundy Thursday.

If you are unable to come to Norges Bank, you can send the application and the money through the post as an insured letter. Inquire at a post office for information about the rules for sending money and the cost. Send the money to:
