Research interests
Qvigstad is the academic and administrative head of Norges Bank Monetary Policy. The chief responsibilities of Norges Bank Monetary Policy are analysing inflation and real economy with respect to the Norwegian economy, and in the light of their findings advising the Governor of Norges Bank on monetary policy strategy. Work in this area involves contact with participants in financial markets, international organisations, the public authorities and academic communities. The head of Norges Bank Monetary Policy is responsible for ensuring that this wing's objectives are achieved, and that its tasks are carried out within the allocated budget framework. Qvigstad is also a professor at the Norwegian School of Management, BI.
Qvigstad's research is mainly concentrated in the fields of monetary economics and applied macroeconomics.
