NTNU Globalization Programme lanches new Master Programme in Globalization starting in the autumn 2007
Are you interested in gaining a profound understanding of the dynamics and effects of globalization within an inter¬disciplinary framework? Would you like to study global value chains and manufacturing processes? And understand the political and cultural conse¬quences of increasing global inter-connectedness? Then this new MSc Programme in Globalization might be of interest to you.
During this two-year Master’s programme in Globalization, you will explore the interrelations between the economic, technological, cultural, social and political dimensions of glo¬balization
You will choose between two specialisations:
Global Technology Management
Global Politics and Culture
The aim of the programme is to provide you with a general understanding of the form and consequences of the processes of globalization, com¬bined with an in-depth knowledge of one of the two fields of specialization. The course will investigate globalization as a multi-dimensional phenomenon with a focus on its implications for civil society, state power, changing patterns of national culture and global markets and technologies.
You will also gain practical experience in a global corporation or institution. The semester-long internship in the third semester of the programme provides a unique opportunity for you to develop and build your personal, academic and professional capacities by managing an individual work project within a global company or institution. You will gain practical knowledge of the workings of the corporation or institution and produce a written report related to the placement.
1. SEMESTER BREAKDOWN AND PROGRAMME COMPONENTS
