| The
Department of Geography at the University of Trondheim was established
in 1975. In 1996, the former colleges of the University of Trondheim were
merged into one single unit, which was named the Norwegian University
of Science and Technology. The Department is part of the Faculty of Social
Sciences and Technology Management.
At present most of the Department's research activities are organised
within the following themes:
· Development Geography
· Health and Welfare Geography
· Geographical information systems, GIS
· Landscape Geography
· Urban, Rural and Regional Research
· Physical Geography - Global Changes There
are a number of research groups including Master's students, Ph.D. students
and staff who are involved in common topics.
