Teaching as well as research in health science and social work are the main activities at our department. Health science is a multidiciplinary study into health, health services and care. Health science tries to understand and explain social behaviour that influence or is influenced by health. Social work is directed to social problems and less advantaged groups, and has a central place in the implementation of social policy. As an academic dicipline, social work is grounded in this applied aspect.
