Aim and Content
The course details the structure and physiology of eukaryotic cells with an emphasis on: organelles, protein secretion, intracellular transport mechanisms, cell cycle, signal transduction, cytoskeleton, tissues formation, cell-differentiation and cancer. The course is based directly on the topics introduced in MOL100, and stresses the importance of molecular and experimental grasp of the field. The course illustrates how genetics and gene technology may be used as tools in research in cell biology. The course is obligatory for a bachelor's degree in molecular biology.
Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide basic knowledge of molecular biology sufficient for further studies in molecular cell biology. The course also provides useful insights in cell biology for further studies in biology and pharmacy.
