Norsk »Professor Ivar Langen got elected as rector in 2003, and took over the position August 1. the same year. He is professor in mechanical engineering. The rector is elected for a four year periode, and it is a full time job. The rector is the head of all academic affairs, and also the leader of the university board.
Professor Inge Særheim entered into the position as vice rector August 1. 2003. He is professor in Nordic linguistics. The vice rector is elected for a four year periode, and it is a full time job. The vice rector is the deputy leader of the university board.
