A one week intensive course on Biotechnology, Globalisation and Risk will be held at UMB between 4th and 8th Dec, 2006.

We are lucky to have as the main lecturer Julian Kinderlerer, Professor in Biotechnology Law, University of Sheffield.

The course will cover a number of issues associated with the ethical and
legal challenges raised by modern biotechnology, including Globalisation,
Biodiversity, Patents and Intellectual Property Rights, and the
Precautionary Principle.

Participation is welcome from students and others interested in the
ethical, legal and social aspects of biotechnology, agriculture or other
modern technological developments.
