Bachelor`s degree programme in Business Administration
Bachelor`s degree programme in Business Administration
Graduates with an education in business administration can work in both the private and public sectors. In Norway, there are many small and medium size companies with a need for employees with competency in areas such as accounting, marketing, finance, economic politics, tax laws etc. The same is true for a large portion of the public sector, such as municipalities, where there is a general demand for people with a broad background in business administration. Completion of the programme allows graduates to use the nationally established title of Bachelor in Business Administration. The degree qualifies graduates to apply for Master's degree studies in business administration, organisation and leadership or social economics (dependent on course choice in the Bachelor's programme). The degree qualifies graduates for intermediate leadership positions in companies, organisations and public management.

Admission requirements
General study competence. 30-60 students are admitted each year.

Internationalisation, study abroad and cooperation
The programme has a very international profile. In general, it is easy for students to take a part of their programme abroad to partner universities and university colleges in other European countries, the USA, Asia or Australia. The Department of Economics and Resource Management has scientific contacts with international institutions, and teachers are helpful in finding a good international offer. A study abroad can be an important and useful part of the student's education. It is possible to take courses at European universities through SOCRATES agreements and through UMB agreements with universities in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Related programmes
The programme has many courses in common with the Bachelor's degree programme in Economics and Natural Resource Management, especially the first year.

Learning goals
The goal of the Bachelor's degree in Business Administration is to graduate reflective professionals who are qualified to contribute to specialist and consultancy assignments in the area of business administration. Teacher and evaluation methods
A mixture of lectures, study groups, seminars, independent work, group work, excursions, assignments, presentations, computer-based learning and other methods are used throughout the entire programme. Both continuous evaluations and final exams are utilised in the programme, and these can include evaluation of projects, presentation, large written work (term papers) and presentations, as well as school exams and home exams.
