Why should you study abroad?

Students at UMB have for many years been travelling abroad to study. A study period can last from three to twelve months and is part of the degree at UMB, without losing studying time. There are several good reasons to study abroad:

Language:
You will learn another language fluently! You already know English, so try a language that you don’t know. You can get very good scholarships for language course.

Personal growth:
To stand on your own shivering legs will ultimately make you more self-confident! Moreover, you build an international contact network and increased understanding for other countries’ cultures.

Academic development:
You can broaden your horizon in an academic environment that complements and strengthens your education in Norway.

Job:
Employers prefer applicants with international experience.

Economy:
Your student loan will cover more in a country with a lower cost of living than in Norway. In addition, Lånekassen (the State Educational Loan Fund) gives extra support for travel and language courses. With an Erasmus or Nordplus scholarship you get even more spending money!
