The PhD programme
The Department of Economics and Resource Management offers a PhD programme, designed to provide strong theoretical and methodological skills in economics while maintaining an applied focus. The programme includes one year of course work, and has a total duration of three years, extendable to four years if fieldwork is done. Currently more than 20 PhD students are enrolled in the programme, most of them within the fields of agricultural, development and resource economics.
The department welcomes application to the PhD programme, although the possibilities for funding the programme are limited. PhD students have several possibilities for financing their studies: (1) Quota scholarship for applicants from developing countries, (2) project support (development or research projects), or (3) self-financed.
The general application deadline for the programme, and quota stipend in particular, is 1. February. The details of the application procedure are provided through the links in the left column.
