Students' representation and College life

Students' representation

The students' democratic organisation is the Parliament, where students from all institutes are represented. The number of students per institute determines the representation of the various groups. The Students' Parliament is associated to the National Students' Organisation, acting on behalf of all students at university colleges in Norway.

The students have two representatives in the different boards at the college, thus having influence on all decisions. In fact, some of these boards are unable to pass decisions unless the students are present.

College life

At Aalesund University College you will find various after school activities. "Raadhuset" (The Students' House) is a building on campus which is at the disposal of the students' own social organisation, and it is in many ways the centre of many student activities. The building includes offices and rooms for meetings and social gatherings. The students have a sports club, a photo group (Click-Click), a movie-theatre group and a student band. At "Raadhuset" a number of parties (with different "themes") are arranged, in addition to tournaments in dart and pool. Not surprisingly the hiking group is very popular among students at Aalesund campus, being situated so closely to the spectacular Sunnmoere nature. The hikers organise a number of excursions in the neighbouring hills and mountains. In addition, the students' association is the lucky owner of two wooden cabins located in the nearby mountains, each of them with accomodation for 15-20 persons. The cabins are ideal resorts for hiking.
As a student in Aalesund, you shouldn't have a boring moment!
