Weather station

Notes about weather station and software configuration

WD for linux (http://www.weather-watch.com/) apparently does not work with linux. However there might be a way if a file 'clientraw.txt can be created.

OWWLOG has a facility to create raw logs and databases.

Davis vantage pro2 includes weather station software that can be linked to weather-watch, weather-watch live and meso map live.

To access the Davis VP2 through linux using the serial connection (and thus potentially also through a modem link), this code might be used: http://www.joejaworski.com/weather/. This code does not work well with the vp2, and it does not take account of some non initialized values in the datalogger if the datalogger is relatively new. It does not seem to loop through all of the archived valued in the datalogger as weather-link does.

This code could be interesting: http://freshmeat.net/projects/wview/. A Java code for accessing the vp2, with the ability to store to a database - just what we want!

weather-watch, weather-watch live and meso map live could also work with 1-wire on linux if we create a raw log file.
