File security backupAll main servers are backed up with TSM (Tivoli Storage Management), situated at campus Bø.Backup scheme For EMPLOYEES: - TSM backs up all new or changed files every night. - TSM stores up to five versions of a file in a round-robin fashion. That is, if you edit your file every day, a five day history of the document is available. Less frequently changed files have an even longer history. - TSM stores 2 versions of any deleted file, provided TSM has 2 or more versions of the file in its system. - TSM stores ut to 5 versions of deleted files for 60 days after deletion. - TSM stores the last version of any deleted file for 120 days after deletion. For STUDENTS: - TSM stores all new or changed file every night. - TSM stores ut to 5 versions of any file in a round-robin fashion. Less frequently changed files have an even longer history - TSM stores 2 versions of any deleted file, provided TSM has 2 or more versions of the file in its system. - TSM stores ut to 5 versions of deleted files for 30 days after deletion - TSM stores the last version of any deleted file for 60 days after deletion. Files that are not deleted by the user or the system administrator are stored permanently. Archiving TSM archiving relates to long term storage of certain files, i.e. student projects et cetera.
