Printing and Quotas
Starting on october 1st 2006 a new arrangement for student printing was introduced, on a trial basis. The purpose of the new arrangement is to reduce the usage of paper and printer toner, and also to introduce colour printing for students. This arrangement will be evaluated summer 2008.
Students at the college pay a fixed amount per semester, presently NOK 100,-, to cover printing expenses. This gives a print quota of 800 black and white pages. A colour print is registered as 6 black and white prints. ( But students in Porsgrunn must use the colour printer available at the “kopitjenesten” for now. ) . See details of the print quota here.
Reduce your print volume by using the ”kopitjenesten” or the available photocopiers when you need several copies of a document.
Buy an additional quota at the ”kopitjenesten” if required, with a minimum purchase amount of NOK 20,-
Printing of copyrighted material must be cleared whith your lecturer in advance- do not break copyright rules!
Printing from laptops
The following installation procedure requires Internet Explorer.
Follow the links below ( "Koble til..."- select your campus site) to the campus map shoving available printers . Select a printer by clicking on its icon in the map. Printer installation requires that you install Novells iPrint Client on your laptop. You will be prompted to install this if necessary. (You need to confirm this prompt by clicking OK.)
The iPrint installation procedure may ask you to reboot your laptop. This is NOT necessary for Windows XP users.
Users with a third party firewall (Porsgrunn campus) may need to press this printserver link
(accept by entering the required information)
Press F5 if the campus map does not appear after installation of the iPrint client.
