Humanistic research deals with humankind and human reflection of the self, others and the world. The basic aims are to develop our interpretation of language and forms of expression past and present, and to expand our understanding of human culture, cooperation and behaviour. What is beautiful? What is good? What is the meaning of our existence?
All aspects of human life are subject to humanistic research, including language, the formation of symbols, world conceptions, expressions of art, social institutions, religion, technology and science. Humanistic research therefore, makes other sciences subject to research and provides a wider perspective by interpreting and placing them in their cultural and historic contexts.
