The new St. Olavs Hospital is a fully integrated university hospital with university research laboratories and offices on the second floor of all the clinical centres. Clinical research is one of our core activities, and we look upon MI lab as an excellent opportunity for research in medical imaging on a high international level. MI Lab will in particular be important for our strong research commitment in the areas of MR imaging of brain disease, cardiac ultrasound, foetal ultrasound and minimally invasive surgery. We anticipate that MI lab will be a source of high quality personnel, and that it will boost our recruitment of medical doctors for scientific careers and attract clever students from the technological sciences to work in a hospital environment.
