The Directorate of Immigration (UDI) temporarily halts the handling of Lebanon-cases
Due to the recent developments in Lebanon and the need for further information about the situation, the UDI has decided to stop the handling of Lebanon-cases temporarily.
This means that the UDI will not make any decisions in asylum or other immigration cases where a rejection or an outcome may result in the applicant being obliged to return to Lebanon. The Directorate will continue to handle Dublin-cases and cases that fall under the country of first asylum rule.
The interruption of case handling means that the obligation to return to Lebanon on the basis of decisions made by the UDI is temporarily suspended.
