According to The Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion (AID), the work with the new MUF- regulation has taken much longer time than expected. The regulation will therefore not be implemented before January 1st, 2007 as was earlier expected.

 

The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration has suspended the processing of applications for persons who have previously had MUF-permit. The applications will be processed when the regulation is ready to be implemented.

 

Applicants who have held permits based on the temporary regulation for citizens of Irak since March 15th, 2005 (MUF-regulation) and wishes to apply for renewal are asked to do so in the usual way and preferably in good time before their current permit expires. An application for renewal must be submitted at least one month before the current permit expires. The application must be submitted to the police in the district where you live.
