Asylum seekers offered Norwegian language courses
The arrangement to offer Norwegian language courses to asylum seekers was re-launched September 1.
The press release from the Ministry of Labour and Social Inclusion is available in Norwegian on their website and details the reasons for re-launching the language courses. One of the aims is to improve the integration of asylum seekers who are granted a permit at a later stage.
It is the local communities who are responsible for organising the Norwegian language courses. As of September 1, approximately 3 000 asylum seekers are eligible for the Norwegian language courses in about 60 local communities.
