Children and young people
To the immigration authorities a person under the age of 18 is considered to be a child. This may concern a child applying for family immigration with people in Norway, a visa for a child, unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, or children seeking asylum with their parents. Children in immigration cases are a particularly vulnerable group. Therefore cases in which children are involved are prioritised by all of the immigration authorities. The need of the child for a decision to be reached speedily must, however, be balanced against the requirement for proper processing of the individual case.
