The University of Bergen's language policy
At the University of Bergen, all teaching, administration, language and everyday communication is normally conducted in Norwegian. As an international research university, however, the university attaches importance to ensuring that some of the activities are conducted in English or other international languages. To fulfil these objectives and its responsibilities to the Norwegian and international communities, the university aims to develop parallel linguistic practice to the extent that it is feasible. The University shall maintain a high linguistic level in both Norwegian and foreign languages.
