University Liaison Office
UiB and the outside world, UiB Alumni and The Christie Conference
UiB and the outside world
The university already works closely with businesses, cultural organisations and the community, but wishes to contribute even more towards developing Bergen and Western Norway into Norway's premier knowledge region. The action plan UiB and the outside world (in Norwegian only) highlights the university's activities, and its objective is to develop a more systematic and targeted prioritisation of the most important relationships with public administration organisations, as well as cultural organisations, the community and businesses.
The University Liaison Office is the point of contact between the university and external parties. We help external parties get in touch with the right people or units in the university. And we help UiB employees like you to get in touch with external parties when you need to or wish to. Contact the Principal Officer Berit Øxnevad-Gundersen.
UiB Alumni
UiB Alumni's aim is to maintain and promote good relations between the university and its former students (alumni).
UiB wants to make it easy for alumni to stay in contact with the academic environment, share professional knowledge and build networks. Alumni will be able to identify what skills are required in research and education, and help to promote contact between the university and businesses, cultural organisations and the community. The University Liaison Office assists academic groups in their alumnus work, and can be contacted via alumni@uib.no.
If you studied at UiB and/or worked at UiB, you can register on our alumnus portal.
The Christie Conference
On 25 April every year, the University of Bergen holds the Christie Conference. In only a few years, this conference has become one of Norway's most important arenas for interaction between academia and the outside world. The programme committee is headed by Leif Ove Larsen, while the University Liaison Office acts as the secretariat and organiser.
