NORHED
Norwegian Programme for Capacity Building in Higher Education and Research for Development
NORHED is a new Norad programme which intended to strengthen the institutional capacity and performance of academic institutions in the South to deliver quality education and research. It is designed to stimulate South-North collaboration, and is anchored in and driven by institutions in the South. NORHED replaces the NOMA and NUFU programmes.
The aim of the programme is to strengthen capacity of higher education institutions in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMIC) to educate more and better qualified candidates on all levels. It also seeks to increase the quality and quantity of research conducted by the countries’ own researchers.
The results for the first call for applications were ready in July 2013. The University of Bergen is a partner in twelve projects and lead partner in one.
The programme has thematic and/or geographic focus
• Natural Resource Management, Climate Change and Environment
• Education and Training
• Health
• Democratic and Economic Governance
• Humanities, Culture, Media and Communication
• Capacity Development in South Sudan
UiB Global coordinates the University's collaboration under the NORHED programme. For more information, please contact Ann Margret Hauknes
