Xanadu-projects
From Vd
The following projects are involved in the Xanadu storage resource at UiO:
|
TITAN
The TITAN cluster uses capacity in Xanadu for the following reasons:
TITAN Home
- The 12 TB TITAN home directories recide on 500GB FATA disks in the HP EVA8000 storage resource.
- TITAN home will be migrated to storage consisting of both fast (15 KRPM SAS) disks and slower (7200 RPM SATAII) disks in a two tier structure. The faster disks secure better interactive storage responce times and the two tier setup leads to a migration of older files from the fast disks to the slower disks, efficiently freeing up capacity on te fast disk drives.
- The composition of TITAN home will be 20% fast disk and 80% slow disk
TITAN scratch
TITAN scratch is a 10 TB work-directory consisting of 4 TB Fast and 6 TB Slow disk. This is a directory ment to support parallel applications that do parallel I/O.
NorStore
The The NorStore project project will be a noticeable player in the storage field in the years to come. The NorStore is operating a NorStore storage facility in Oslo and one in Trondheim. The other Universities will follow.
A large part of the 5 SUN StorageTek 6540, ca 450 TB net, composes the UiO part of the NorStore storage resource.
Tier 1
The EPF Tier1 facility at UiO uses a capacity of 120TB disk space in the HP EVA8000.
Metos
Uses 4 TB capacity, slow disk.
HEP
HEP uses 8 TB slow disk.
NOTUR
The NOTUR project has required 10 TB fast disk in connection to TITAN.
Met.no
Metno has requested 5 TB fast disk.
