For everything to work as smoothly as possible, you should configure your computer to use a WINS server. If you use a NTNU dialup service or if you connect to the internet with a network card, this should happen automatically. If not, you could configure the WINS settings manually, see "how to configure a WINS server" (Only in Norwegian.) WINS-server.
Set user name and password
In order to log on to Progdist, you'll need to use your NTNU user name and password. The domain has to be set to "win-ntnu-no" :
- If you don't have a user on your computer with the same user name as NTNU, you'll have to make this by pushing Start -> Control Panel -> Users.
- Push Start-> Control Panel -> Network. Set "Primary Network Logon" to "Client for Microsoft Network"
- Choose properties for "Microsoft Network Client" and choose "Log on Windows NT-domain". Enter "win-ntnu-no" as domain name.
