Third generation solar cells
(Turid Worren Reenaas)
Fabrication of third generation solar cells based on thin films and quantum structures. Optical characterization by photoluminescence and transmission electron microscopy.
Programme of study:
- Physics. Master's programme, 2 years, Energy and enviroment physics
- Physics. Master's programme, 5 years, Technical physics

Ultraviolet radiation in the nature
(Berit Kjeldstad)
Studies of atmospheric factors effecting UV radiation on ground; as aerosols, ozone, clouds. Measurement and modelling. Instrumentation.
Programme of study:
- Physics. Master's programme, 2 years, Energy and enviroment physics

Conditions in oil reservoirs
(Knut Arne Strand)
By use of light scattering, the research focuses on determining viscosity for and interface tension between gases and their condensates under reservoir conditions.
Studieprogram:
- Physics. Master's programme, 2 years, Energy and enviroment physics

Electron- and ionphysics
(Tore Løvås)
Electrical breakdown in fluids and gasses. Transport in ionised gasses.

Experimental optics
(Morten Kildemo og Mikael Lindgren)
The research in experimental optics focus on laserbased spectroscopy (biophotonics) and technical optics (Interferometry and Fourier optics). It is applied in studies of biosystems, photonic materials, surface and interfaces.
Programme of study:
- Physics. Master's programme, 2 years, Optics and condenced matter physics
