SIU's databases

Besides integrating ICT into its programme management operations, SIU has also developed a number of popular electronic information services, both on its own initiative and on behalf of other parties such as the Commission of the European Union.

These services make up an important part of SIU’s web-site, and you will find them on other Internet pages here on siu.no

What follows here is a collection of the most central services, with a short description of each of them. We have also set up a number of short-cuts to make them easier to find.

Norwegian study information
www.StudyinNorway.no
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Research, SIU has developed a website that offers a general profile of Norway as a country for education and training.

siu.no/master

Student mobility and students’ reports
siu.no/studmob

siu.no/thesis

Finding partners for international cooperation
siu.no/Partner.nsf/start
With the aid of the Partner Database you can seek contact with international colleagues regarding joint academic projects. This database has been given to EAIE, which uses it as its home page.

siu.no/socpart
Just as with its Partner Database, SIU has set up a Socpart Database for seeking partners in the Socrates Programme. The EU Commission uses this database on its own Internet site.

Identifying international cooperative projects
siu.no/isoc
On behalf of the EU Commission SIU has developed ISOC, which is intended to offer easier access to information about Socrates projects. This is where to find updated information about individual projects.

siu.no/skolepro
If you work in the school sector and are wondering what type of international cooperation you might join, this is where you can find out about international projects in which Norwegian schools are involved.

Other Internet resources
siu.no/kalender
This calendar contains an overview of events (conferences, seminars, etc.) of importance for international cooperation. SIU has developed the system in such a way that everyone who is interested in international cooperation can register their activities via the Net.

siu.no/pekere
In addition to finding publications and literature about internationalisation, there are many other good net-sites on which you can get help concerning international cooperation. To give you a better overview of these, we have gathered a great deal of information about resources of this sort in a separate system which should make it easier to find and maintain them.
