Programmes managed by SIU
SIU deals with three different aspects of organising international educational and research cooperation: programmes, fellowships and auditing arrangements. Programme management is the biggest part of our activities, and SIU is currently the largest international programme office in Norway. SIU manages programmes based on agreements between the Norwegian Council for Higher Education and individual clients. SIU’s activities range over the whole educational sector, from kindergarten level to higher and further education. Its programmes target the Nordic countries, Europe, Eastern Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Asia, Central America and the Palestinian Territories.
SIU’s programme portfolio consists of:
- The NUFU programme
- Fellowship programmes administered by SIU:
- Norad's Programme for Master Studies (NOMA)

The portal has information about specific projects, cooperation possibilities for both local citizens and Norwegians, and links to other relevant websites. The portal can be found here.
Other schemes cover

- The Nordic Council of Ministers’ auditing arrangement with the Commission of the EU
- The Researcher and Student Channel (marketing on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
The programmes organise pupil cooperation, student exchanges, academic networks, research cooperation, further and higher education, development of joint curricula, distance learning, auditing and the development of new teaching methods.
