 Brief Description:

This group investigates the consequences of lexical decomposition within a fine-grained functional sequence. The major topics are the theory of labelling, the theory of categories, the structure of adjectives, passives, causatives and modals. The common emphasis on adjectival

categories prompted us to package these seminars together with the scalar structure seminars (although each course can be taken independently). General lectures will take place on Tuesday afternoons 2-4  in alternate weeks. As with the Scale Structure group, there will also be  more detailed/participatory ‘lab' sessions. on Mondays from 2-4 in weeks alternating with the respective lecture.
