DP Structure
This seminar will look at the way nouns combine with the various ingredients that go into the construction of different types of noun phrases (using this term loosely so as to include DPs of different denominations). Starting from the bottom of the tree, we will begin by examining the behavior of classifiers and a subset of the determiners across a variety of languages. Eventually, we will move on to a wider variety of determiners, possessive constructions, adjectival modification and, hopefully, relative constructions.
