Prospective Students

The University of Tromsø hosts about 600 international students each year. Most students apply through exchange agreements and scholarship programmes such as Erasmus, North2North, Nordplus, the Fellowship Programme for the High North, Barentsplus or the Quota Programme. In addition, foreign applicants can take advantage of an increasing number of bilateral or multilateral exchange agreements with universities wordwide.

If your university has not yet signed an agreement with UiT, there are other ways to be admitted to UiT. In this case we encourage you to apply as a self-financing free-mover or full master's degree student. Our international programmes offer unique opportunities and specializations which will qualify you for an international job market.
