Responsibility for HSE

The responsibility for Health, Safety and Environment is a management task equivalent to other tasks for managers with responsibility for (References (No): jfr AML § 14 and HMS-håndboka kap. 3.1). All units should have an overview of the distribution of responsibility and authority at that unit. Written plans of action for HSE should be made annually at each unit. Action plans should have their basis in a review of the HSE-situation at the unit.

To be successful in creating good HSE-conditions, cooperation (at all levels) is a prerequisite. This means that objectives and plans of action have to be prepared by management and co-workers together. This implies that the communication has to function well in both directions in order to exchange information and feed back. A good and trusting cooperation is a prerequisite to maintain a safe, constructive and productive working environment.
