Welcome to the Department of Education

The Department of Teacher Education (IPLU) is responsible for the Diploma of Teacher Education, Bachelor and Master Degree Programmes in Education and Special Needs Education as well as for the Practical Pedagogical Education of the University`s own Teachers. Through their research and educational development work IPLU plays an active role in schools and other educational institutions as well as in continuation studies. During the latter years there has been a special focus on continuation courses in connection with mentoring, Educational management and action Learning. The subjects Education and Teachers Training are interdisciplinary study-programmes. Education as a subject can be described as the theory of education and teaching. it includes the study of learning processes of students with different preconditions in various institutional and cultural contexts.
