Master's degree program in Mathematics
A master's degree in mathematics will give the student a solid background in classical and modern mathematical concepts and methods. The master's program contains a research project of two semester's duration. This project is adapted to the student's interests and skills, and is within one of the active research fields at the department.
The master's program in mathematics is divided into four fields of study:
There are also specializations within each field of study.
In order to be admitted to the master's program a bachelor of science degree in mathematics is needed. On this page there are links to sample programs for each field of study. Each of these requires that certain courses be included in the bachelor's degree. If these demands are not met, extra coursework must be included.
The department also offers a master's degree program in statistics.
