TEE discussion group

Discussions of key and novel concepts in ecology and evolution, with focus on links between the theoretical and the empirical.
(we might serve tee/tea, coffee and other fuel to help the brains!)

Please contact David Boukal for inclusion in the mailing list, copies of papers and further information.
Regular Place Seminar room of the modelling group at UiB (Høyteknologisenteret, Thormøhlensgt. 55, 3rd floor, right wing — "blue" area)
When coming from outside: please call someone from the modelling group if the door of the group area is closed (numbers are on the door).
Regular Time Thursdays, 9:40am, about twice a month

Evolutionary responses to harvesting in ungulates (Proaktor et al. 2007, JAE)

This paper investigates the evolutionary responses to harvesting in ungulates using a state-dependent, stochastic, density-dependent individual-based model of red deer Cervus elaphus (L.) females subject to different harvesting regimes. An interesting addition to the topic of harvesting-induced evolution, certainly from the taxonomical point of view!
