Preparatory course

A preparatory mathematics course will be held the first week in the fall semester.

Days: Monday Aug. 13 to Friday Aug. 17
Time: 8.00 to 16.15 every day except Wednesday (8.00 to 10.00)
Room: C006 (Monday)

This course is optional but highly recommended. You can sign up for the course by contacting Monica Strand before August 10. The teacher for the course is Førsteamanuensis Hans Engenes. The topics that will be covered are

• introduction to number theory
• basic abstract algebra
• basic probability theory (if time permits)

The course will be based on Kompendium for forkurs i matematikk for MIS .
