Prices for payment services at the beginning of 2005

Prices for most of the electronic payment services rose very moderately in 2005, whereas the rise in prices for paper-based services were more moderate than earlier. Changes in banks’ average prices for domestic electronic payment services ranged from NOK - 0.13 to NOK 0.27. Changes in prices for domestic paper-based payment services varied from NOK - 0.30 to NOK 1.11. As from 2004, the average prices for cross border payment services covered by Regulation (EC) 2560/2001 have fallen appreciably. In the period from 1 March 2005 to 1 January 2006, the average price for a SWIFT STP transfer in EUR equivalent to NOK 2500 from Norway to countries in the EEA area was reduced by NOK 2.18.
