  • Third generation solar cells
Fabrication of third generation solar cells based on thin films and quantum structures. Optical characterization by photoluminescence and transmission electron microscopy.

  • Ultraviolet radiation in the nature
Studies of atmospheric factors effecting UV radiation on ground; as aerosols, ozone, clouds. Measurement and modelling. Instrumentation.

  • Conditions in oil reservoirs
By use of light scattering, the research focuses on determining viscosity for and interface tension between gases and their condensates under reservoir conditions.

  • Electron and ion physics
Electrical breakdown in fluids and gasses.
    Transport in ionised gases.

  • Experimental optics
The research in experimental optics focus on laserbased spectroscopy (biophotonics) and technical optics (Interferometry and Fourier optics). It is applied in studies of biosystems, photonic materials, surface and interfaces.

  • Holographic interference
Holographic interference is combined with videorecording and data processing to measure very small static and dynamic displacements.

  • Physics Education
Research and development in teaching and learning physics and technology in various levels of education.

One main topic is research conserning environmental physics
